Abstract
Today, technology is used in a wide range of activities, including the production of goods and services, the establishment of communications, etc., and is considered a major factor in economic growth and development. On the other hand, imports are one of the ways to access advanced and new technologies. In this regard, the present study, using a panel data approach and the generalized method of moments, examines the interactive effect of globalization (economic globalization and political globalization) and national innovation on the absorption of technology spillovers from the import channel in two groups of selected developing and developed science-producing countries during the period 2011-2022. The estimated results showed that economic globalization, political globalization, and innovation individually and with different estimated coefficients have a positive and significant effect on the absorption of technology spillovers in both groups of selected developing and developed science-producing countries. Furthermore, the interaction of economic and political globalization with national innovation has a positive and significant effect on the absorption of technological spillovers in both groups of selected developing and developed science-producing countries. Of course, the estimated coefficients of their interaction effect are larger than the estimated coefficients of their individual effects.
